Baked Pinto Beans - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. onion, chopped
    2 Tbsp. bacon drippings or cooking oil
    2 c. cooked pinto beans
    3 Tbsp. brown sugar
    4 Tbsp. chili powder
    1/4 tsp. oregano
    salt and pepper to taste
    1 (8 oz.) tomato sauce
    6 to 8 strips bacon
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 325\u00b0.
    Saut onion in bacon drippings (or oil) until golden brown.
    Combine with beans, brown sugar, chili powder, oregano, salt and pepper and tomato sauce.\tMix lightly and place in 2-quart dish.
    Arrange bacon on top.
    Cover.
    Bake for 1 1/2 hours.
    Remove cover and bake 10 minutes to brown bacon.
