Sweet Pickles - cooking recipe
Ingredients

cucumbers
1 c. salt to 1 gal. water
1 c. lime to 1 gal. water
1 c. sugar
1 c. vinegar
Preparation

Soak cucumbers in 1 cup of salt to 1 gallon of water for 1 week.
Then wash and cut in rings.
Soak in 1 cup lime to 1 gallon of water for 23 hours.
Wash well and make syrup of sugar and vinegar (enough to cover cucumbers) and soak overnight.
Drain off syrup and boil 10 minutes.
Cover cucumbers again and let set 2 hours.
Put on stove and cook 12 minutes.
Put mixed spices in jar.
Fill with cucumbers and syrup and seal.
