Old-Fashioned Maple Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
    pinch of salt
    1 1/2 c. fresh white bread crumbs
    2 Tbsp. lard
    1 to 2 Tbsp. iced water
    whipped cream (to serve with)
    finely grated rind and juice of lemon
    3 Tbsp. sugar
    1/4 c. butter or margarine
    a little beaten egg or milk to glaze
    1 c. maple syrup
Preparation
    Place the flour and salt into a bowl; stir in sugar.
    Cut in half the butter or margarine with the lard until the mixture resembles fine cornmeal.
    Add enough iced water to mix to a firm dough.
