Plain Griddle Cakes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
    3 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    3 Tbsp. sugar
    1 1/4 c. milk
    1 egg
    3 Tbsp. melted shortening
Preparation
    Sift flour, baking powder, salt and sugar into large mixing bowl.
    Add milk, egg and melted shortening.
    Mix until batter is smooth, about 1 minute.
    Drop on hot griddle.
    Cook on one side until puffed and full of bubbles.
    Turn and cook on other side. Serves 4.
