Oatmeal Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. oats
1 1/2 c. hot water
1/2 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Pour hot water over oats.
Let stand.
Cream shortening and sugar; add eggs.
Beat.
Mix flour, nutmeg, salt, soda and cinnamon together.
Mix oat mix into sugar and egg mixture.
Add flour; mix a little at a time.
Beat; add vanilla.
Bake 30 to 40 minutes in 350\u00b0 oven.
