White Cake Supreme - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. all-purpose flour
    1 Tbsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    3/4 c. shortening
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. milk
    5 egg whites
    1/2 c. mayonnaise (optional)
Preparation
    Combine flour, baking powder and salt.
    Beat shortening until soft.
    Add sugar and vanilla; beat until fluffy.
    Add dry ingredients and milk alternately.
    Beat egg whites until stiff; gently fold into mixture.
    Add mayonnaise.
    Pour into lightly greased and floured cake pans.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 20 minutes. Frost with Creamy White Frosting.
