Home Made Vegetable Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 lb. ground beef (browned and drained) or 2 c. precooked turkey, chicken beef or pork chopped into small pieces
    1 slice smoked bacon (optional)
    1 c. onion, chopped
    1 c. potatoes, diced
    1 c. carrots, sliced
    1 c. celery, sliced
    2 (16 oz.) cans whole tomatoes, chopped
    5 c. chicken, beef or turkey broth (or 5 c. water and 2 Tbsp. bouillon granules or 6 bouillon cubes)
    1 can corn
    1 can green beans
    1 can peas
    salt and pepper to taste
    1/4 tsp. thyme
    1/4 tsp. basil
    1/4 tsp. oregano
    1 or 2 whole bay leaf/leaves
    1/2 c. elbow macaroni (optional)
Preparation
    Simmer all at least 30 minutes.
    If you add macaroni add it now and cook for an additional 10 minutes.
