Chow Chow - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    7 large onions
    1 medium cabbage
    10 green tomatoes
    12 green peppers
    6 sweet red peppers
    1/2 c. pickling salt
    6 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. mustard seed
    1 Tbsp. celery seed
    1 1/2 tsp. turmeric
    4 c. cider vinegar
    2 c. water
Preparation
    Wash vegetables.
    Using a coarse blade, grind them up. Sprinkle with pickling salt and let stand overnight.
    Rinse and drain.
    Bring to a boil all other ingredients and boil 5 minutes. Fill jars and seal.
    Process in boiling water bath 5 minutes. Makes 9 pints.
