Baked Greek Beef Pattiesaunt Elizabeth'S Recipe - cooking recipe

2 lbs. Lean Ground Round, or Chuck
1 egg
2 slices, dry bread crumbs
1 medium onion, fine chopped
4 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
1/3 cup Fresh Peppermint leaves, finely chopped
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. pepper
1 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 cup dry Red Burgundy wine
1 1/2 Tbsp. olive oil
3 Tbsp. Hunt's tomato sauce
Preparation

Mix all ingredients together and shape into 1/4 inch thick round patties (about 14 or 15 patties).Place in two 9 X 13 inch baking pans.
Do not use aluminum pans.
Bake for 35 minutes at 350\u00b0.
Mix together ingredients for tomato sauce using 4 large cans of Hunt's tomato sauce, 2/3 cup of dry Burgundy wine, about 30 peppermint leaves finely chopped, 3 Tbsp. of olive oil and salt and pepper to taste.
Pour over patties in baking dish and bake for 35 minutes longer.
Serve patties and sauce over spaghetti or linguini, topped with grated Parmesan cheese. Serve with green salad, greek black olives and garlic bread.
