Jailhouse Chili - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. pinto beans
    8 c. water
    1 tsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. salad oil
    3 c. onions, chopped
    2 lb. ground beef
    2 cans (28 oz. each) tomatoes (undrained)
    1 (4 oz.) can chopped chilies
    1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
    3 Tbsp. chili powder
    1 Tbsp. salt
    1 tsp. sugar
    2 tsp. ground cumin
    1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
Preparation
    Cover beans with water and soak overnight. Add 1 teaspoon salt and simmer 1 hour or until beans are almost tender.
    Drain and set aside.
