Asparagus Spears Rolled In Ham - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    18 canned asparagus spears
    3/4 c. salad oil
    1/4 c. wine vinegar
    1/2 tsp. salt
    freshly ground pepper to taste
    1/2 tsp. dried basil
    9 slices thin boiled ham or baked ham
Preparation
    Marinate asparagus spears in oil, vinegar, salt, pepper and basil for two hours.
    Drain thoroughly.
    Cut ham in half crosswise and wrap around asparagus spear, securing with toothpick.
    (These may be prepared ahead of time and kept refrigerated until serving time.)
