Picante Sauce - cooking recipe
Ingredients

16 c. ripe tomatoes
4 c. chopped onions
1/4 c. chopped hot pepper
1/4 c. chopped bell pepper (sweet)
2 1/2 c. white vinegar
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/3 c. canning salt
3 Tbsp. chopped garlic
4 1/2 Tbsp. garlic powder
2 Tbsp. black pepper
2 tsp. cumin seed
1 tsp. alum
1 small can tomato paste
Preparation

Mix well; cook for 2 hours, uncovered.
Stir often to keep from sticking.
Put in 8 pint or 4 quart jars and seal.
Turn jars upside down for 10 minutes.
