Portuguese Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. olive oil
    2 diced onions
    3 large carrots, diced
    2 c. kidney beans
    1 1/2 lb. sausage
    1/2 Tbsp. salt
    3 c. canned tomatoes (and juice)
    3 tsp. garlic powder
    3 large potatoes, diced
    1/2 cabbage, chopped
    2 qt. beef stock
    dash of paprika
Preparation
    Brown onion and sausage in oil. Add tomatoes and simmer for 4 to 5 minutes. Add garlic, carrots, potatoes and cabbage. Cover with stock and simmer 10 minutes. Add meat, salt, pepper and paprika to taste. Cover and simmer 1 to 3 hours. Add more beef stock if needed. This is a nice, spicy soup.
