Chocolate-Covered Cherries - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 (10 oz.) jars maraschino cherries with stems
    1/4 c. butter, softened
    1 Tbsp. cherry-flavored liqueur
    1 Tbsp. light corn syrup
    2 c. powdered sugar
    1 1/2 lb. chocolate-flavored candy coating, chopped
Preparation
    Drain cherries; let dry on paper towel overnight.
    In small bowl, combine butter, liqueur and corn syrup.
    Stir in powdered sugar; knead until smooth.
    Form a heaping 1/2 teaspoonful fondant around each cherry.
    Place on waxed paper-covered cookie sheet; refrigerate.
