Freezer Slaw - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 medium head cabbage
    3 ribs celery, diced
    1/2 c. water
    1 tsp. mustard seed
    1 c. white vinegar
    1 tsp. salt
    3 c. sugar
Preparation
    Sprinkle salt on shredded cabbage; let stand 1 hour.
    Squeeze out liquid from cabbage.
    Mix together celery and cabbage.
    Combine vinegar, salt, water, sugar and mustard seed.
    Bring to a boil. Boil for 1 minute.
    Let cool.
    Pour over cabbage mixture and mix well.
    Freeze in containers.
    When ready to use, thaw in refrigerator, pour off juice and squeeze out liquid.
    Mix with mayonnaise or your favorite dressing.
    Shredded carrots, onions or peppers can be added.
