Date Balls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. butter
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 (8 oz.) pkg. pitted dates
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 egg, beaten
    3 c. Rice Krispies
    1/2 c. chopped walnuts
    1 pkg. flaked coconut
Preparation
    Melt butter; add sugar and dates and cool slightly. Add egg, blending well. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Cool slightly. Stir in vanilla, cereal and nuts. Form into small balls and roll in coconut. Be careful; mixture is very hot.
