Piccalilli Relish - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 qts. chopped, green tomatoes
    1 lg. green pepper, chopped
    1 lg. red pepper, chopped
    1 pt. onions, chopped
    1/4 c. salt
    1 pt. vinegar
    1 1/2 c. white sugar
    1 1/2 c. brown sugar
    1/4 - 1/2 c. pickling spice
Preparation
    Cover green tomatoes with cold water in pan.
    Bring to a boil and scald for a few minutes.
    Drain off water and place tomatoes back into the kettle.
    Add red and green peppers, onions, salt, vinegar, and sugar to the tomatoes.
    Put pickling spice into a spice bag and add to mixture.
    Simmer 1/2 hour - 3 hours depending on your liking.
    (Recommended time is 2-3 hours.)
