Hot Butter Rum Sauce(Excellent On Hot Apple Pie Ala Mode) - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. sugar
1 Tbsp. cornstarch
3/4 c. milk
1/2 c. butter
2 Tbsp. rum or rum flavoring

Preparation

Combine sugar, cornstarch and milk in a 4-cup glass bowl.
Add butter.
Microwave on High for 3 minutes.
Stir.
Microwave 3 to 4 minutes until mixture boils hard for 2 minutes and is thick.
Add rum.
Stir.
Can be made ahead and reheated in the microwave just before serving.
