Chocolate-Covered Banana Pops - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 ripe large bananas
    9 wooden ice cream sticks or skewers
    2 c. (12 oz.) Hershey's semi-sweet chocolate chips
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    1 1/2 c. coarsely chopped, unsalted roasted peanuts
Preparation
    Peel bananas.
    Cut each into thirds.
    Invert wooden stick into each banana piece.
    Place on wax paper-covered tray.
    Cover; freeze until firm.
    In top of double boiler over hot water, melt chocolate chips and shortening.
    Remove bananas from freezer just before dipping.
    Dip each piece into warm chocolate, covering completely, allow excess to drip off.
    Immediately roll in peanuts.
    Cover; return to freezer.
    Serve frozen.
    Makes 9 pops.
