Beef Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 3/4 lb. stew meat
    1/4 c. oil
    1 large can tomatoes
    1 bay leaf
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    1 Tbsp. soy sauce
    1 c. beef stock
    1 1/2 c. carrots
    1/4 c. celery
    1/4 c. onion
    1 1/2 c. potatoes
    1 Tbsp. flour or cornstarch
    1/4 c. water
Preparation
    Brown stew meat in oil.
    Add tomatoes, bay leaf, pepper, soy sauce and beef stock.
    Bring to a boil.
    Simmer 1 1/2 hours.
    Cut the vegetables.
    When meat is almost cooked, add carrots, celery and onion.
    Bring to a boil and simmer 15 minutes.
    Add potatoes and cook until tender.
    Mix cornstarch and cold water.
    Stir into stew and simmer a few minutes.
    Good!
    Serves 8 to 10.
