Ingredients

1 3/4 c. mashed strawberries (about 1 qt. fresh berries)
4 c. sugar
2 Tbsp. lemon juice (1 lemon)
1/2 bottle fruit pectin
Preparation

Mix berries and sugar.
Combine lemon juice and pectin in a bowl.
Add to berry mixture.
Stir for 3 minutes or until most of the sugar crystals are dissolved.
Pour into jars and cover with lids.
Let set at room temperature for 24 hours.
Put in freezer or refrigerate for use within 3 weeks.
Makes 5 medium jars of jam.
