Sweet Potatoes Delight - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 medium size sweet potatoes
    1/4 c. oil
    4 Tbsp. butter
    2/3 c. sugar
    1 c. water
Preparation
    Peel and slice potatoes about 1/2-inch thick.
    Heat the oil in a heavy skillet.
    Brown the potatoes quickly on both sides.
    Pour off the oil.
    Put all the potatoes in the hot skillet.
    Sprinkle on the sugar, dot on the butter and pour the water over all. Cover and cook over medium heat until tender and the liquid is syrupy.
