Rum Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. shortening
    1 c. sugar
    1 egg
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. each: cinnamon, nutmeg, soda and vanilla
    1 c. flour
    1/2 c. nuts
    2 1/2 c. cubed apples
    2 Tbsp. hot water
Preparation
    Mix in order.
    Pour in greased, round layer pan or pie plate. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 minutes to 1 hour.
