Apricot Almond Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. oleo, softened
    1/2 c. powdered sugar, sifted
    1/4 tsp. almond extract
    1 3/4 c. flour
    1/2 c. finely chopped almonds
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 (12 oz.) jar apricot preserves
    1/2 c. chopped candied fruit
    1/2 tsp. almond extract
Preparation
    Cream the first 3 ingredients together. Stir together flour, nuts and salt. Add to creamed mixture. Mix until crumbly. Reserve 1 cup for topping. Pat remaining into ungreased oblong baking pan. Combine preserves and remaining ingredients. Spread over crumb layer.
    Top with reserved crumbs. Bake at 350\u00b0 until golden, 30 to 35 minutes. Cut while warm.
    Yields 32 bars.
