Sausage Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 Tbsp. bacon fat
    4 c. shredded cabbage
    3 or 4 potatoes in 1/2 inch slices
    fresh ground pepper
    1/2 c. boiling water
    1/2 to 1 lb. kielbasa, sliced in serving chunks or Italian sausage
Preparation
    Melt bacon fat in a large skillet.
    Add cabbage.
    Top with sliced potatoes.
    Lay sausage on top; sprinkle with pepper.
    Pour on boiling water.
    Cover tightly and simmer over lowest heat for 50 to 60 minutes.
    Add extra water if needed.
    Serve with brown bread. Serves 4.
