Fastnachts(Doughnuts) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. sugar
    1/4 c. shortening
    3 eggs
    2/3 c. milk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    1 tsp. salt
    5 tsp. baking powder
    3 to 4 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation
    Cream together sugar and shortening.
    Add eggs, milk and vanilla.
    Mix dry ingredients together and blend together until shininess leaves dough.
    Roll on floured surface and cut with doughnut cutter.
    Deep fry in vegetable oil or shortening until golden brown, turning once.
    Coat with sugar, powdered sugar or frosting.
