Beef 'N' Tator Bake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. lean ground beef
    1 c. soft bread crumbs
    1 egg, beaten
    1/2 c. chopped onions
    1/3 c. ketchup
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    1 c. shredded American cheese
    3 c. hot mashed potatoes
Preparation
    Combine beef, bread crumbs, eggs, onion, ketchup, salt and pepper.
    Pat meat into an 8-inch square baking dish.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
    Remove from oven; drain excess fat.
    Combine mashed potatoes and 3/4 cup shredded American cheese; spread cheese over meat.
    Bake for another 30 minutes.
    Top with 1/4 cup shredded cheese.
    Bake for another 20 minutes.
    Makes 6 servings.
