Ingredients

1 heaping c. sugar
3 eggs, separated
5 Tbsp. flour
2 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. coconut
1 baked pie shell
Preparation

Mix first 4 ingredients.
Cook until thick. Add vanilla and coconut, reserving part of coconut to sprinkle onto meringue. Pour into pie shell. Beat egg whites until stiff. Add sugar to sweeten (about 3 teaspoons).
Spread over pie. Sprinkle remaining coconut over pie.
Brown in moderate oven.
