Italian Cream Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 stick margarine
    1/2 c. vegetable shortening
    2 c. sugar
    5 egg yolks
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. soda
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 small can coconut
    1 c. chopped pecans
    5 egg whites, beat until stiff
Preparation
    Cream margarine and shortening until fluffy.
    Add sugar; beat well.
    Beat in egg yolks.
    Mix together flour and soda.
    Add alternately with buttermilk.
    Mix in vanilla.
    Add nuts and coconut.
    Fold in egg whites.
    Pour into 3 prepared (9-inch) layer pans.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
