Peanut Brittle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. white syrup
    1/2 c. water
    1 1/2 c. raw Spanish peanuts
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 Tbsp. butter
    2 tsp. soda (optional)
Preparation
    Boil the first 3 ingredients to hard crack stage, then add the peanuts, salt, 2 teaspoons soda and butter.
    Stir until it changes color.
    Add 1/2 teaspoon (heaping) soda.
    Stir and pour into buttered pan.
    Let harden and break into pieces.
