Layered Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head lettuce, cut in bite size
    1 c. diced celery
    4 sliced hard-boiled eggs
    1 (16 oz.) pkg. uncooked frozen peas, unthawed and broken apart
    1/2 c. diced green pepper
    1/2 medium sized onion, diced
    8 slices bacon, cooked and diced
    1 c. mayonnaise, spread like cake icing
    4 oz. grated Cheddar cheese, place on top
Preparation
    In a 9 x 12-inch or larger bowl, layer in order given.
    Cover and let stand 8 to 12 hours before serving.
