Rice With Black Beans - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 medium onion, chopped
    1 Tbsp. salad oil
    1 (14 1/2 oz.) can tomatoes
    1 (16 oz.) can black beans (undrained)
    1/2 tsp. oregano
    1/2 tsp. garlic powder
    1 1/2 c. instant brown rice (uncooked)
Preparation
    Cook and stir onion in hot oil until tender.
    Add vegetables and seasonings.
    Bring to a boil.
    Stir in rice; return to boil. Reduce heat and simmer 5 minutes.
    Remove from heat and let stand 5 minutes.
    Serves 8.
