Party Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 egg whites
    1/8 tsp. salt
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Beat egg whites and cream of tartar added with salt and vanilla.
    Beat until stiff.
    Add sugar gradually, beating constantly.
    When very stiff, spread on buttered 9-inch pie plate. Bake at 275\u00b0 for 1 hour.
    Should not brown.
