Ingredients

5 large onions
1 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. sugar
1/2 c. milk
1 egg, well beaten
1 Tbsp. Wesson oil
Preparation

Peel onions
and
slice 1/4-inch thick.
Cover with ice water and
let
stand
30
minutes.
Wipe
dry and separate in rings. Sift
together the dry ingredients.
Combine egg, milk and oil; add
the dry ingredients and mix well.
Dip onions in batter and fry in deep fat until golden brown.
