John Wayne Casserole - cooking recipe
Ingredients

6 slices white bread, crusts trimmed off
6 eggs
1 tsp. salt
1/4 lb. melted butter
1/2 c. Cheddar cheese
2 c. scalded milk
3 Tbsp. chopped green chiles
dash of cayenne
1/2 tsp. dry mustard
crumbled bacon, minced ham or sausage (optional)
Preparation

Cube bread and put in greased 9 x 13-inch pan.
Sprinkle grated cheese over bread cubes; cover with remaining bread. Combine cooled scalded milk and beaten eggs.
Add seasonings and meat; pour over bread.
Pour melted butter over top (optional). Bake at 400\u00b0 in a water for 45 minutes.
