Onion Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    30 small square saltine crackers
    1/2 c. melted butter
    4 c. thinly sliced onions
    1/4 c. butter
    2 c. sharp Cheddar cheese
    1 1/2 c. scalded milk
    3 egg, beaten
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. pepper
Preparation
    Make a crust of crushed crackers and 1/2 cup melted butter. Put in 10-inch pie plate or similar low dish.
    Saute until golden brown the onions in 1/4 cup butter.
    Put on top of cracker crumbs in shallow casserole.
    Sprinkle on top of onions grated sharp Cheddar cheese.
    (This may be fixed hours ahead of time.)
