Boiled White Frosting - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. sugar
1/3 c. water
1/8 tsp. cream of tartar
few grains salt
1 egg white, beaten stiff
1 tsp. lemon juice or 2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Dissolve sugar in water and cook with cream of tartar and salt to soft ball stage.
Add syrup to egg white, beating constantly. Beat in flavoring and beat until thick enough to spread.
