Helen'S Chocolate Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/3 c. Crisco
    2 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    1 c. buttermilk
    2 1/4 c. flour
    3 Tbsp. cocoa
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 tsp. soda, in 1 c. boiling water
Preparation
    Cream Crisco and sugar and add eggs.
    Alternate buttermilk with dry ingredients.
    Add vanilla and soda-water mixture.
    Batter will be thin.
    Pour into greased pan and bake 40 minutes at 325\u00b0 or until done, depending upon size of pan.
    Does not need frosting.
