Meatball Shepherds Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. ground beef
    1 egg
    2 c. bread or cracker crumbs
    salt & pepper to taste
    3 Tbsp. oleo
    1 large onion minced
    1 Tbsp. flour
    1 3 oz. can mushrooms, undrained
    1 16 oz. can tomatoes, crushed
    1 pkg. frozen peas and carrots, thawed
    1/2 tsp. oregano
    mashed potatoes
Preparation
    Mix first 4 ingredients, shape into meatballs, brown.
    Remove and brown onions in drippings, blend in flour and undrained mushrooms.
    Add meatballs, tomatoes, bring to a boil.
    Simmer 30 minutes.
    Add peas and carrots, add oregano, season to taste.
    Put in shallow baking dish, spread potatoes on top.
    Brown under broiler.
