Italian Cream Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 stick oleo
    1 c. buttermilk
    2 c. flour
    1 c. pecans, chopped
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. cream soda
    1 tsp. salt
    5 eggs, separated
    2 c. coconut
Preparation
    Cream sugar, shortening and oleo.
    Add beaten yolks.
    Beat until fluffy.
    Add vanilla and buttermilk with dry ingredients. Fold in beaten egg whites.
    Add coconut and pecans.
    Use 3 (9-inch) pans.
    Bake at 325\u00b0 for 30 to 35 minutes.
