German Spice Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 c. flour
    2 c. sugar
    1 1/4 c. margarine
    2 eggs
    4 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    pinch of cloves
    1 tsp. baking powder (in flour)
    2 Tbsp. cocoa
    2 or 3 oz. citron
    2 or 3 oz. chopped almonds
    2 or 3 oz. other nutmeats
Preparation
    Make a liquid from 1/2 cup coffee and 1 cup water.
    Cream margarine and add sugar and whole egg and nutmeats.
    Put spices in flour.
    Make up coffee and strain.
    Mix coffee with enough flour to make a liquid paste.
    Put baking powder in balance of flour mixture.
    Mix alternately flour and coffee with creamed mixture. Bake in any pan, round, square or tube style, well-greased.
    Put in unlighted oven.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour.
    Cover with chocolate frosting.
