Bread And Butter Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 qt. pickles, sliced
    5 c. sugar
    1 1/4 qt. vinegar (5 c.)
    1/2 c. mustard seed
    1 Tbsp. celery seed
    1 Tbsp. turmeric
    3 or 4 big onions, sliced
Preparation
    Chill pickles and onion in salted water for 3 hours.
    Heat spices, vinegar and sugar.
    Add pickles and onions.
    Bring to boil.
    Put in jars.
