Fried Green Tomatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 or 4 medium green tomatoes
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    1/4 c. cornmeal
    1/4 c. grated Parmesan cheese
    1 tsp. dried oregano
    1/4 c. cooking oil
Preparation
    Slice tomatoes about 1/4-inch thick. Sprinkle slices with salt and pepper. Mix cornmeal, Parmesan cheese and oregano in shallow dish. Heat oil in skillet. Coat tomato slices with cornmeal mixture. Place slices in skillet and fry 1 to 3 minutes on each side, until light brown. Drain on paper towels and serve.
