Tamale Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. corn meal or polenta
    6 c. water
    1 Tbsp. fat
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1 onion
    2 c. tomatoes
    1 lb. hamburger or 1 can link sausage
Preparation
    Mash mush by stirring corn meal and salt into the boiling water; cook 45 minutes.
    Brown onion in fat; add meat and stir until it has turned brown.
    Add salt and tomatoes.
    Grease baking dish; put in layer of mush and meat and cover with mush.
    Bake 1/2 hour.
    Serves 6.
    Cover.
