Chocolate Buttermilk Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 3/4 c. sugar
    2/3 c. shortening
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 1/2 c. flour
    1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. buttermilk
    1/2 c. cocoa
    1/2 c. boiling water
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Grease and flour two 9-inch layer cake pans or one 9 x 13-inch pan.
    Cream sugar and shortening together until light and fluffy.
    Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition; add vanilla.
    Sift together flour, baking soda and salt; add alternately with buttermilk.
    Make a heavy smooth paste of cocoa and boiling water; cool slightly and blend well.
    Bake 35 to 45 minutes.
    Frost with Chocolate Cream Cheese Frosting.
