Bread And Butter Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 qt. sliced cucumbers
    1 tsp. ground mustard
    2 tsp. turmeric
    4 tsp. salt
    4 large onions, sliced
    4 red mangoes, sliced
    4 c. sugar
    2 c. vinegar
Preparation
    Peel and slice cucumbers.
    Cover over top with salt.
    Let stand 1 hour.
    Wash salt off cucumbers.
    Put cucumbers, onions and peppers in syrup made of the sugar, vinegar, mustard and turmeric.
    Heat to boiling.
    Put in jars and seal.
    Makes 6 pints.
