Rum Or Whiskey Sauce - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/4 c. butter or margarine, melted
1 1/2 Tbsp. flour
1/2 c. sugar
2 c. milk
1 egg
1 to 2 Tbsp. rum or bourbon or more to taste or use 1/2 to 1 tsp. rum flavoring
Preparation

Mix flour and sugar into margarine; stir in milk until smooth. Bring to simmer; cook for about 5 minutes, until thickened.
Beat egg in a small cup.
Add some of the hot mixture to the egg, beating well.
Stir egg into sauce mixture, beating until smooth. Cook 3 to 5 minutes, until thickened.
Do not boil.
Remove from heat.
Add vanilla and rum or bourbon.
Serve warm over bread pudding.
