Seven Day Sweet Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    7 lb. medium size cucumbers
    water to cover
    1 qt. vinegar
    8 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. mixed pickle spices
Preparation
    Wash cucumbers and cover them with boiling water; let stand 24 hours and drain.
    Repeat each day for 4 days using fresh water each time.
    On the fifth day, cut cucumbers in 1/4-inch rings.
