Applesauce Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. flour
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 tsp. baking powder
    2 c. Quick Quaker oats (uncooked)
    1 c. thick, unsweetened applesauce
    1 c. raisins
    2 beaten eggs
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. cloves
Preparation
    Thoroughly cream the shortening and sugar; add eggs and beat well.
    Add applesauce, then sift dry ingredients.
    Beat until smooth and fold in raisins.
    Bake in wax paper lined 8-inch square pan in a 350\u00b0 oven for 45 to 60 minutes.
    Serve plain or frosted. This cake will remain moist for several days in a tightly covered container.
