Golden Corn Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. yellow corn meal
    1 c. sifted enriched flour
    1/4 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. salt
    4 tsp. baking powder
    1 egg
    1 c. milk
    1/4 c. soft shortening
Preparation
    Sift together dry ingredients.
    Add eggs, milk and shortening. Beat with egg beater until smooth, about 1 minute.
    Don't overbeat.
    Bake in greased 8-inch square pan or greased muffin pans.
    Bake at 425\u00b0 for 20 to 25 minutes.
    Serves 9.
